All too
often, the greatest threat to thatch is fire. It can spell disaster
on both a personal and financial level. Which is why Thatchsure has
made fire-retardation a primary concern.
FIRE-PROOFING
Drawing on over ten years experience in the chemical industry,
Thatchsure patented a unique self-triggering fireproofing and preservation
technique. Applied internally and externally to the thatching structure,
the spray creates a clear coat that reduces fire activation levels to
500%. This not only enables evacuation: it contains the fire, reducing
the threat of a full-scale blaze. Thatchsure will also conduct regular
monitoring through its maintenance programme of the
spray coat, reapplying where necessary to ensure its continued
effectiveness.

system serves the dual purpose of lowering insurance costs in the face
of decreased risk, as seen in the graph. Thatchsures continued
commitment to extending the boundaries of fire prevention has set industry
standards, increasing peace of mind for all of its customers.
Testament to this achievement is its SABA rating of approval;
recommendation by the CSIR; and its enrolment in SAWPA. This has
enable Thatchsure to equip insurance companies with the relevant documentation
assuring them that all of its roofs conform to the highest industry
standards.
