CONSTRUCTION
Thatchsures construction expertise is embodied in its research-backed,
historical thatching techniques. Making use of a variety of rare woods,
its distinctive pole roof structures can be grouped into two main
categories:
- Traditional established truss arrangements
combined with natural architectural lines
- Modern a more open, shell-like structure
Within these two parameters, almost any design is
possible. And each design is created by structural engineering team in
accordance with the customer's individual requirements.
However, there are several factors that remain consistent across all projects
:
- All structural work and materials conform
to SABS regulations
- The thatch used is the highest Cape winter
thatch, and can be
pre- or in situ-treated for preservation and fire-retardation
- There is no disturbance to interior furnishings
or exterior plant life
- Routine roof quality inspection are performed
during and after construction
- The customer is then awarded a Certificate
of Conformance once work is finished
Construction is then completed with the application of the thatch protection
and fire-retardant spray. Each project is carried out by trained in-house
personnel, in association with supply and construction partners with whom
Thatchsure has enjoyed long and trusted affiliations.
